Exploring Champagne Problems: A Taylor Swift-Themed Speakeasy

Taylor Swift fans, known as Swifties, now have a new place to immerse themselves in their fandom beyond the confines of concert venues. Champagne Problems, a Swift-themed speakeasy located at 207 Bowery in the Lower East Side, opened its doors earlier this summer. The speakeasy offers a unique space for fans to come together and celebrate their love for Taylor Swift in a vibrant and eclectic setting.

Upon entering Champagne Problems, guests are greeted with a chip wall that opens to reveal a hidden door, adding an element of surprise and exclusivity to the experience. Once inside, visitors are treated to a visual feast of eclectic decor, including a Moet & Chandon vending machine offering mini bottles of Champagne and an oversized Champagne coupe filled with bubbles for photo opportunities. The space also features a contemporary mural of Swiftie heroes like Beyonce and Jay-Z, illuminated by elegant chandeliers.

True to Taylor Swift’s style, Champagne Problems is filled with hidden Easter eggs that only the most dedicated fans may notice. From the express button for ordering Champagne to the gallery wall of framed photos of famous Champagne drinkers, every detail in the speakeasy adds to the overall experience. The speakeasy also features a TV playing Swift’s music videos on mute, creating a captivating backdrop for guests.

While the food menu at Champagne Problems may not have direct ties to Taylor Swift, the chip-themed entryway sets the tone for a unique dining experience. Dishes like Potato and Eggplant Frites with Doritos Cool Ranch Dressing, Korean fried hot dogs with Ruffles, and tempura shrimp served with kettle chips offer a playful twist on traditional bar bites. The menu seems to be designed to complement the bubbly Champagne on offer, providing a perfect balance of flavors for guests to enjoy.

Champagne Problems is open Tuesday through Sunday, starting at 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy dinner until late on weekdays and drinks until the early hours of the morning on weekends. The speakeasy’s intimate and group seating options make it an ideal spot for gatherings with friends or fellow Swifties. Inspired by a Vegas supper club, Champagne Problems offers a social media-friendly aesthetic that is sure to delight fans looking for a unique and memorable experience.
