Norwegian Cruise Line Introduces “More at Sea” to Enhance Guest Experience

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is embarking on a transformative journey by replacing its longstanding Free at Sea and Free at Sea Plus pricing structures with a revamped offering: the More at Sea package. This innovative approach, set to launch on January 1, marks a strategic move to elevate the cruising experience by incorporating a broader selection of premium services, thereby redefining how guests interact with the brand.

The motivation behind NCL’s transition to the More at Sea package reflects a commitment to inclusivity and enhanced value. According to David Herrera, the president of NCL, this new initiative is not merely a product change but rather a significant repositioning of the brand itself. “There’s more to be had, more value, more options for you as a guest to enjoy your cruise,” Herrera stated, emphasizing that the shift aims to provide guests with an extensive range of amenities and experiences that elevate their vacation.

One of the standout features of this new package includes an expansive selection of alcoholic beverages. Guests can now enjoy high-end spirits, such as Grey Goose vodka, Casamigos Tequila, and Woodford Reserve bourbon whiskey—beverages that were previously exclusive to the Premium Plus beverage package. In an industry where drink quality is paramount, this inclusivity of premium brands should resonate well with guests seeking a more indulgent experience while on board.

NCL is not stopping at drinks; the introduction of More at Sea extends to the culinary realm as well. The cruise line has recognized the rising demand for diverse dining options, expanding the number of specialty dining evenings for guests staying in balcony cabins from two to three. This change allows diners to indulge in multiple culinary experiences throughout their journey. Furthermore, guests will be treated to a more interactive dining experience by being allowed to select up to three appetizers and desserts at each meal—promoting a communal and indulgent culinary adventure.

Another key aspect of the dining overhaul includes the replacement of a la carte pricing with a fixed cover charge for specialty dining venues. This streamlining will allow guests to better anticipate their dining expenses and enjoy a worry-free experience as they explore the varied menus onboard.

In addition to refreshing its food and beverage offerings, NCL is also looking to enhance the connectivity experience for its guests. Currently, the cruise line offers complimentary WiFi access limited to 150 minutes for staterooms with two guests. With the advent of the More at Sea package, each guest will now enjoy 150 free WiFi minutes, enabling everyone—including third and fourth guests—to stay connected seamlessly. This progressive change acknowledges the growing importance of connectivity in today’s travel landscape, catering to the needs of travelers who wish to share their experiences in real time.

To complement these enhancements, NCL is set to launch a user-friendly mobile app by the end of the year. This app is designed to streamline the reservation process for onboard activities and services, such as dining, shore excursions, and entertainment. In today’s tech-savvy world, providing a platform that simplifies the booking process will likely enhance overall guest satisfaction.

As Norwegian Cruise Line gets ready to unveil the More at Sea package, it plans to release two new ships, Norwegian Aqua in March and Norwegian Luna in April 2026, indicating a commitment to expansion and innovation. These new vessels will likely harmonize with the upgraded service offerings, thereby setting a new standard in the cruise industry.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s transition to the More at Sea package represents a bold stride towards elevating the cruise experience by offering an extensive array of premium services. By enhancing its beverage and culinary offerings, improving connectivity, and embracing technological advancements, NCL is reaffirming its dedication to providing unforgettable experiences that cater to the evolving desires of modern travelers. With these changes, guests can anticipate a luxurious and fulfilling cruise adventure ahead.
