Exciting Family Fun at Carnival’s Celebration Key

Carnival Cruise Line has announced the opening of Celebration Key, a brand new private beach destination on Grand Bahama set to open in July 2025. Among the many features of this $500 million project, one of the highlights is the family area known as Starfish Lagoon, promising an array of exciting activities for guests of all ages.

Starfish Lagoon is set to offer an exhilarating experience with waterslides that stretch the length of a football field. The two water slides, named Flash Flamingo and Mach III Marlin after the Bahamas’ national bird and fish, will wrap around the impressive 10-story “Suncastle” centerpiece. Riders will have the chance to race each other as they zoom down the slides, accompanied by bursts of light and color along the way. Additionally, floating cabanas called AquaBanas will be available for rent, providing a unique and relaxing way to enjoy the water.

For younger guests, there will be a splash pad called the Guppy Grotto, featuring a variety of water toys and interactive elements in a coral reef theme. Parents can relax in shaded seating areas while their children play, or visit the nearby ice cream shop for a refreshing treat. The Game Pavilion will offer table games like foosball and ping pong, while the nearby Sports Court will provide opportunities for volleyball, basketball, and pickleball.

Relaxation and Dining Options

Adults will have their own dedicated spaces for relaxation, including a swim-up bar and hammocks next to the Suncastle. Guests can also enjoy a stretch of beach, as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals for some fun in the water. Along with sun loungers and umbrellas, Starfish Lagoon will feature restaurants, snack shacks, and Bahamian food trucks serving up delicious treats for hungry travelers.

Exploring Celebration Key

In addition to the family area, Celebration Key will have four other designated areas known as portals. These include the Calypso Lagoon, a retail area called Lokono Cove, and the Paradise Plaza entrance area. Carnival has kept details of an adults-only retreat under wraps, leaving guests intrigued by what else the destination has to offer. With an expected 2.2 million guests in 2025, growing to 4 million by 2028, Celebration Key is gearing up to be a popular and exciting destination for cruise travelers.
