American Cruise Lines Continues Expansion of Fleet

American Cruise Lines is set to grow its fleet with the addition of three new ships by the end of 2026. These vessels will expand the company’s offerings and provide more options for passengers looking to explore coastal and river destinations.

New Ships in Project Blue Series

Two of the upcoming ships will be part of the Project Blue series, which focuses on coastal cruising. These vessels, the seventh and eighth in the series, will join the existing Coastal Cats lineup. Project Blue was launched last summer with the introduction of the American Eagle, the first ship in this class. Following the success of the American Eagle, the American Glory was added to the fleet in November. The Coastal Cats are designed to navigate coastal waters and inland waterways, offering passengers a unique cruising experience.

In addition to the new Coastal Cats, American Cruise Lines will also be introducing its seventh modern American riverboat. The company currently operates several modern riverboats, including the American Jazz, American Harmony, and American Song on the Columbia and Snake rivers. On the Mississippi River system, passengers can enjoy the American Melody, American Serenade, and American Symphony. The newest addition to the riverboat lineup is the American Serenade, which made its debut in April 2023.

The next class of Project Blue ships, known as the Patriot class, is set to debut in 2025. These ships will be larger than the Coastal Cats and will accommodate 125 passengers. The first two ships in this class will be named the American Patriot and American Pioneer. American Cruise Lines has not announced whether the seventh and eighth ships in the Project Blue series will be Coastal Cats or Patriots.

With the addition of three new ships to its fleet, American Cruise Lines is continuing its expansion and offering passengers more opportunities to explore scenic coastal and river destinations. The introduction of the Project Blue series and the upcoming Patriot class ships will provide travelers with a range of cruising options to suit their preferences and interests. As the company grows its fleet, passengers can look forward to new and exciting cruising experiences in the years to come.
