Cruise Line Crystal Inks Deal with Fincantieri for New Ships

Cruise line Crystal has recently signed a memorandum of agreement with shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct two brand new 690-passenger vessels. The first ship is scheduled to be delivered in the spring of 2028, while the timeline for the second ship has not yet been announced. Additionally, Crystal has secured an option to build a third ship, with delivery expected in 2032.

One of the standout features of these new vessels is that all accommodations will be suites with private verandas, catering to the utmost comfort and luxury for passengers. Notably, the design efforts for these ships will be led by two distinguished architectural firms – Studio Ibsen, headed by Adriana Granato, and Studio Gem led by Naval Arch. A third firm is also set to join the project in the near future.

Crystal has stated that the interior design of the new ships will boast precious marbles, sumptuous Italian fabrics, and a selection of natural materials. The aim is to provide an unparalleled level of sophistication that is typically only found in high-end private residential properties. This attention to detail and luxurious design will undoubtedly elevate the passenger experience on board.

The 61,800-gross-ton ships will incorporate a promenade that extends through the perimeter, a design feature reminiscent of Crystal’s existing vessels – the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Passengers can look forward to dining options that include the renowned Nobu restaurant Umi Uma and the introduction of the first Beefbar at sea, offering a unique culinary experience.

With these new vessels set to join Crystal’s fleet in the coming years, the cruise line is positioning itself as a leader in luxury and innovation within the industry. The collaboration with Fincantieri and the selection of top architectural and design firms signal an exciting new chapter for Crystal, with a focus on delivering unparalleled experiences for passengers seeking a combination of luxury and adventure at sea.
