American Express Unveils New Centurion Lounge in Washington Reagan National Airport

American Express is set to open its 29th Centurion Lounge at Washington Reagan National Airport on July 17th. This 12,000-square-foot lounge will introduce a unique dining experience created by three renowned chefs: Michelle Bernstein, Ravi Kapur, and Michael Solomonov. Setting itself apart from other Centurion Lounges, this location will offer dishes inspired by Latin, Israeli, and Hawaiian cuisines, providing travelers with a diverse and flavorful menu.

In addition to the exceptional food offerings, the lounge will feature a bar serving specialty cocktails crafted by Centurion Lounge mixologist Jim Meehan. Guests can indulge in drinks like the Haku Hanami, a cocktail inspired by the cherry blossom trees found throughout Washington, D.C. Furthermore, the wine selection curated by Centurion Lounge wine director Anthony Giglio will showcase wines sourced from local Virginia vineyards, adding a touch of regional flair to the beverage options.

The ambiance of the Washington Reagan Centurion Lounge will be enhanced by art installations created by local Washington artists Claudia “Aziza” Gibson-Hunter, Maggie O’Neill, and Lori Katz. Additionally, the dining area will feature an abstract work by Emon Surakitkoson, inspired by the Potomac River. The centerpiece of the lounge, a ceiling sculpture comprised of 260 lanterns, pays homage to the original boundary markers that outlined the city when it was established in 1791. This attention to detail in both art and design adds a sense of cultural richness to the overall experience for travelers.

Situated in Terminal 2, beyond the south security checkpoint, the Washington Reagan Centurion Lounge offers a convenient and luxurious space for travelers to relax and unwind before their flights. With a focus on culinary excellence, artistic inspiration, and regional influences, this new addition to the Centurion Lounge network promises to elevate the airport lounge experience for American Express cardholders and guests alike.
