The Future of Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny Ship in 2025

Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Destiny, is set to debut in late 2025 with a variety of exciting features. One of the most anticipated additions is a restaurant inspired by the beloved movie “The Lion King.” The Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King will offer guests a unique dining experience in a savannah-inspired venue complete with depictions of animals and nature. The back wall of the venue will transition from sunrise to sunset during the meal, creating an immersive atmosphere for diners.

In addition to the Lion King-themed restaurant, the Disney Destiny will also include a sweet shop inspired by “The Incredibles.” The Edna a la Mode Sweets shop will mirror fashion designer Edna Mode’s lab from the movie, where the superhero family’s costumes are created. Guests can indulge in handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats while enjoying the unique ambiance of the shop.

Unique Cafes

The Disney Destiny will feature two casual walk-up cafes offering a variety of beverages and snacks. Cafe Megara, named after the independent heroine from “Hercules,” will pay homage to the film’s Greek gods. Another cafe, Cafe Merida, inspired by the Pixar movie “Brave,” will transport guests to the Scottish Highlands with its decor. These cafes will provide guests with a cozy spot to grab a coffee or snack while enjoying the ship’s amenities.

The staterooms on the Disney Destiny will showcase custom artwork featuring iconic Disney legends. Concierge staterooms and suites will feature the story of “Fantasia” with watercolor-style artwork, while seven special oceanview rooms above the bridge will include imagery from “The Incredibles” and offer breathtaking views. The ship will also feature Hero Suites inspired by Greco-Roman architecture, colors, and patterns, as well as an IncrediSuite with a midcentury-modern aesthetic.

The Disney Destiny is set to be powered by liquefied natural gas, a more environmentally friendly fuel option. This move aligns with Disney’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint. The ship’s design and technology aim to minimize environmental impact while providing guests with a memorable and enjoyable cruising experience.

The Disney Destiny is one of three new ships that Disney Cruise Line is working on. The first to launch will be the Disney Treasure, followed by the Disney Adventure. The Destiny is expected to set sail in December 2025, offering guests a unique and magical cruise experience. With its innovative dining options, themed shops, and stunning staterooms, the Disney Destiny is sure to delight Disney fans of all ages.
