Exploring the Magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Epic Universe

Universal Studios has announced the creation of a highly anticipated Harry Potter-themed section at Epic Universe. This groundbreaking addition promises to include the most ambitious ride that Universal has ever created – “Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.” Set in the magical world of Harry Potter, guests will embark on a journey through time and space, starting from 1920s Paris and culminating in the British Ministry of Magic. The ride, Metro-Floo, pays homage to the beloved Floo Network from the Harry Potter films. This network enables wizards and witches to travel between fireplaces using a special powder, adding an extra layer of magical immersion for visitors.

Upon arriving at the British Ministry of Magic, guests will find themselves in the midst of the trial of Dolores Umbridge, the infamous witch who once took over Hogwarts. The queue will lead guests through the Ministry’s various departments before boarding “magical, omnidirectional lifts” to witness Umbridge’s trial. However, chaos ensues as Umbridge attempts to escape, prompting a thrilling chase involving iconic characters like Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Higgledy the house elf. Universal promises an exhilarating experience as guests are propelled in all directions – up, down, forward, backward, and even sideways – while encountering Death Eaters and magical creatures throughout the adventure.

The “Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic” will be one of the five themed worlds within Epic Universe. Visitors will enter this enchanting realm through a portal that transports them from a Muggle park in Paris to the Place Cachee wizarding shopping district set in the 1920s. The district will feature Haussmann-style buildings housing shops and sidewalk cafes, where guests can interact with exchange students from Hogwarts and Ilvermorny. The experience will be enriched with opportunities to cast spells using wands and engage with various characters from the Wizarding World.

One of the highlights of the Ministry of Magic is Le Cirque Arcanus, a full-scale theater show never before seen in a Wizarding World park. This captivating performance combines live performers, aerialists, puppetry, and special effects to bring the world of magical beasts to life. The storyline follows Ringmaster Skender and circus employee Gwenlyn as they embark on a mission to rescue creatures such as Demiguise, Diricawl, and Mooncalves. The show promises to be a mesmerizing spectacle for Harry Potter fans.

Culinary Delights and Magical Merchandise

In addition to the immersive experiences, the Ministry of Magic will offer a variety of dining options catering to different tastes. Cafe L’Air De La Sirene will serve French delicacies, while Le Gobelet Noir will appeal to Dark witches and wizards seeking a shadowy dining experience. Bar Moonshine will transport visitors to a wizarding Americana atmosphere, complete with a selection of beverages. Furthermore, merchandise locations like Les Galeries Mirifiques and K. Rammelle will provide guests with ample opportunities to purchase wizarding gear and treats.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Epic Universe is shaping up to be a magical destination for fans of the beloved book and film series. With its innovative rides, immersive environments, theatrical shows, delectable cuisine, and unique merchandise offerings, the Ministry of Magic promises a truly enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. As Universal continues to expand and enhance its theme parks, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter remains a cornerstone of its immersive storytelling and world-building.
