Cruisers On The Sun Princess Disappointed by Attractions Cancellation

Recently, it was announced by Princess Cruises that three attractions specifically geared toward young cruisers that were planned for the Sun Princess will not be coming to fruition. This news has left guests disappointed, as they were eagerly anticipating the opening of these exciting new features on board.

One of the attractions that will not be opening on the Sun Princess is the RollGlider, which was described as a zipline-like ride with an overhead track. Guests would have been seated and harnessed for an exhilarating 11 mph ride. Another cancelled attraction is the Coastal Climb, a climbing structure that would have allowed guests to climb from decks 19 to 20, navigate various obstacles, and enjoy stunning views before sliding back down to the bottom. Additionally, the ropes course, another highly anticipated feature, will not be opening as well.

These attractions were originally planned to be part of Park19, the Sun Princess’ three-deck activity zone. Princess Cruises had marketed Park19 as an area of the ship that would cater to guests of all ages, offering activities that would bring together multigenerational families for fun and entertainment. However, with the cancellation of these attractions, many guests feel let down and are questioning why they won’t be installed as promised.

Despite the disappointment expressed by guests, Princess Cruises has declined to provide a detailed explanation as to why the attractions will not be installed on the Sun Princess. The only reason given was that the cruise line was unable to accept delivery of them. With the line’s second Sphere-class ship, Star Princess, set to be delivered in September 2025, many are wondering if similar attractions will also be cancelled on that vessel.

The cancellation of the planned attractions on the Sun Princess has left many young cruisers and their families disappointed. The anticipation for exciting new features has been replaced with feelings of letdown and confusion. Princess Cruises may need to be more transparent in their communication with guests moving forward to avoid similar situations in the future.
