Disney World Updates Genie Plus Service to Allow for Advanced Selections

Disney World has recently announced changes to its Genie Plus skip-the-line service, now allowing guests to reserve attractions up to seven days in advance if they are staying at a Disney hotel. This new update, set to launch on July 24, will provide visitors with the convenience of planning their theme park day ahead of time, creating a smoother experience for guests.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

The Genie Plus service is being rebranded as Lightning Lane Multi Pass, giving guests the opportunity to make up to three selections at a theme park prior to their visit. In addition to selecting from a variety of attractions, guests can also reserve Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions in advance. This change comes as a response to feedback from guests who expressed a desire for more planning capabilities before their theme park day.

Improved Booking Flow

The booking flow for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass has been illustrated to provide clear guidance for guests. With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, visitors have the option to make advanced selections for their preferred attractions, ensuring a seamless experience upon arrival at the park. This allows guests to maximize their time and prioritize the attractions they most want to experience.

The Genie Plus service grants guests access to a separate queue, typically resulting in shorter wait times compared to the main attraction queue. By offering Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections in advance, Disney aims to enhance the guest experience and streamline the planning process. Guests can now view available experiences and times prior to purchasing, giving them greater flexibility and control over their itinerary.

In addition to advanced selections, Lightning Lane Multi Pass will offer guests staying at Disney resorts the opportunity to plan their Lightning Lane passes up to a week before their visit, extending to their entire stay. This priority access ensures that guests can secure their desired attractions and make the most of their time at the theme park. Modifications to selections are available, subject to availability, allowing guests to adapt their plans as needed.

Disney has updated its app to facilitate easier and faster purchases of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. The new feature enables guests to make the purchases in one transaction, streamlining the process and providing a more efficient booking experience. With the app enhancements, guests can navigate through the selection process seamlessly and secure their preferred attractions with minimal effort.

Despite the rebranding to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the service will function similarly to the current Genie Plus system, allowing guests to secure times for popular attractions at Disney World. Individual Lightning Lane is currently available for select attractions, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, providing guests with the option to skip the regular queue and enjoy priority access to the rides.

Starting July 24, guests staying at Disney hotels will have the opportunity to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass up to seven days in advance, granting them priority access to the most popular attractions. Other guests will also have the option to make a purchase three days in advance, ensuring that all visitors have the opportunity to plan their theme park day according to their preferences. Prices for Lightning Lane Single Pass will continue to vary based on the date and theme park.

Disney’s updates to the Genie Plus service with the introduction of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass represent a significant improvement in guest experience and convenience. By allowing for advanced selections, prioritizing resort guests, and streamlining the booking process, Disney World is reshaping the way visitors plan and enjoy their theme park day. These enhancements reflect Disney’s commitment to providing an exceptional and seamless experience for guests, ensuring that every visit to the park is memorable and enjoyable.
