Exploring LGBTQ+ Pride Events in New York City This June

As June approaches, New York City gears up to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride throughout the month. The city hosts a variety of events, pop-ups, parties, and specially curated menus that are infused with rainbows and queer culture. While the famous march is held on the last Sunday of June, there are numerous opportunities to partake in the festivities all month long.

If you are looking to celebrate Pride through food and drinks, here are some of the top places to visit in New York City this June:

Kickstart Pride month on June 1 with a pop-up burrito collaboration at a queer Brooklyn café located at 724 Sterling in Brooklyn. This event will showcase a special breakfast burrito filled with wet gooey eggs, sour pork sausage, crispy fried potatoes, and tuk trey pa’ah (sweet fish sauce dressing). Pair your burrito with a margarita and enjoy the unique flavors of this fusion cuisine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Middle East Children’s Alliance.

Visit a chic Williamsburg bar called Bar Blondeau and indulge in the seasonal Crimson Negroni, a twist on the classic Negroni featuring watermelon and cucumber gin from Pollinator Spirits, Crimson Amaro, and dry vermouth. During June, $2 from every Crimson Negroni purchased will be donated to The NYC LGBT Community Center, with each donation matched by Pollinator Spirits. Don’t miss out on their Sunset Hour specials, offered Monday through Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

For a unique dining experience, head to a Broadway-themed diner with singing servers and try their Pride-themed menu items. Indulge in a rainbow shake, rainbow cake, and Ellen’s x God’s Love We Deliver T-Shirts. Throughout June, the diner will donate 20% of the proceeds from these items to God’s Love We Deliver, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to those in need.

Experience Pride in style at a luxurious spot in Flatiron offering Pride High Tea every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sip on themed cocktails such as the Cropping Rope or The Flyer, with $2 from each specialty cocktail purchase going to Heritage of Pride. Indulge in menu highlights like the Double Rainbow Cookie almond and apricot cake, Champagne Vanilla Roll Cake, and Funfetti Dulce de Leche Sandwich. Enhance your celebration with caviar and champagne bottle service.

Immerse yourself in a series of Pride events hosted by a hub of culinary culture in New York City. Starting on June 5 with “Queering the Table,” this event will feature a panel of industry leaders discussing being black and queer in the hospitality industry. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres like sweet potato cupcakes and red snapper ceviche, accompanied by wine. This event, hosted by James Beard Award semifinalist and pastry chef Kareem “Mr. Bake” Queeman, is a must-visit for food and wine enthusiasts.

New York City offers a diverse range of LGBTQ+ Pride events throughout the month of June. Whether you are looking to try unique fusion cuisine, enjoy special Pride-themed cocktails, or attend culinary-focused Pride events, there is something for everyone to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community.
