Florida Welcomes More Michelin Starred Restaurants

Florida’s culinary scene has received a significant boost with the announcement of the 2024 MICHELIN Guide for Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. This guide has added stars to nine more restaurants in the region, bringing the total number of Michelin Starred restaurants in Florida to an impressive 26. The prestigious L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami continues to lead the pack with two stars, solidifying Florida’s position as a top gastronomic destination.

The International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, Gwendal Poullennec, highlighted the growth of Florida’s local culinary scene since the arrival of the MICHELIN Guide in 2022. Florida has proven itself to be a leading destination for food enthusiasts, both local and international. In addition to the nine new restaurants awarded one MICHELIN Star, the guide also introduced Green Star restaurants for the first time, recognizing the commitment of these establishments to sustainable gastronomy.

Among the new additions to the Michelin Starred list, two restaurants in Tampa, Ebbe and Kosen, along with three Miami eateries, EntreNos, Ogawa, and Shingo, were honored. In Orlando, Camille, Natsu, Papa Llama, and the prestigious Victoria and Albert’s at Disney World also received stars. Victoria and Albert’s, located at the Grand Floridian Resort, offers an opulent dining experience with a pre-fixe meal priced at $295 per guest. Optional wine pairings and zero-proof pairings further enhance the dining experience at this exclusive establishment.

Celebrating Culinary Excellence

Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers of Victoria and Albert’s expressed his gratitude for the recognition by Michelin, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the entire team behind the innovative dining experience at the restaurant. The culinary approach at Victoria and Albert’s, described as “contemporary verve,” draws on influences from various regions, resulting in dishes that impress even the most discerning palates. From New Zealand langoustine tarts to venison carpaccio sandwiches, each dish reflects Chef Sowers’ creative and bold culinary style.

Michelin inspectors were particularly impressed with the water lists, ornate coffee and tea service, and the extensive wine program at Victoria and Albert’s. These details, combined with the exceptional quality of the dishes, contributed to the restaurant earning its first Michelin star. Since its opening in 1988, Victoria and Albert’s at Disney World has garnered numerous accolades, further solidifying its reputation as a premier dining destination.
