Hyatt Expands Presence in New Orleans with Two New Hotels

Recently, Hyatt has made a significant move in the hospitality industry by expanding its footprint in New Orleans. This expansion includes the addition of two unique hotels, Maison Metier and The Barnett. These new properties bring a fresh take on luxury accommodation to the city’s vibrant landscape.

Maison Metier, formerly known as Maison de la Luz, is set to become a part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection this year. On the other hand, The Barnett, previously the Ace Hotel New Orleans, is expected to join the JdV by Hyatt collection in 2024. Both hotels are conveniently located on Carondelet Street, just a block away from the iconic Lafayette Square.

Maison Metier, housed in a historic 1908 building, exudes the charm of a Parisian luxury guesthouse. The hotel boasts 67 beautifully appointed rooms and a salon-style bar named Bar Marilou. In contrast, The Barnett pays tribute to its past as Barnett’s Furniture Store, blending art deco and French modernism influences in the city’s Warehouse District. Additionally, the culinary offerings at both hotels have been revamped to include new venues such as the Italian restaurant Josephine Estelle, rooftop bar Alto, and music venue Three Keys.

Both Maison Metier and The Barnett are owned by the Domain Cos. and managed by HRI Hospitality. The Domain Cos. had previously collaborated with Ace Group International to launch the Ace Hotel in 2016, followed by Maison de la Luz three years later. This partnership has brought a fresh perspective to the New Orleans hospitality scene, combining historic charm with modern luxury.

Hyatt’s expansion in New Orleans with the addition of Maison Metier and The Barnett signifies a commitment to offering guests unique and memorable experiences. From the Parisian-inspired elegance of Maison Metier to the artistic flair of The Barnett, these new hotels are set to become must-visit destinations for travelers seeking a blend of culture, history, and luxury in the heart of the city. With their distinctive features and thoughtful design, Maison Metier and The Barnett are poised to elevate the hospitality standards in New Orleans and leave a lasting impression on visitors.
