The Expansion of Norwegian Cruise Line’s European Options in 2026

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the addition of three new ports of call for its 2026 spring and summer seasons. These new ports include Portree, Scotland; Leirvik (Stord), Norway; and Palamos, Spain. This expansion allows for more diverse itineraries and experiences for passengers, with limited sea days and more time to explore these exciting destinations.

In addition to the new ports of call, NCL will offer 22 overnight stays in Europe during the season. This provides passengers with the opportunity to immerse themselves in select destinations such as Reykjavik, Iceland; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Istanbul, Turkiye. These overnights will be available on select seven- to 14-day sailings, adding a new level of flexibility and depth to the European cruise experience.

The Norwegian Sun will sail a full Baltic season, offering seven- to 10-day open-jaw cruises from Copenhagen, Denmark. Helsinki will serve as a homeport for the first time for NCL, adding a convenient departure point for passengers. The Norwegian Sky will embark on seven-day Western Mediterranean sailings, including open-jaw cruises to and from Barcelona and Rome (Civitavecchia). These itineraries will feature calls to Nice/Monaco, Marseille, and other exciting ports of call.

The Norwegian Dawn will feature a new open-jaw itinerary with no sea days, allowing passengers to maximize their time exploring various European destinations. The Norwegian Gem will also debut a new itinerary, cruising from Barcelona and making the line’s first call in Palamos, Spain. Additionally, the Gem will visit Salerno, Italy and Nice/Monaco for the first time, providing passengers with fresh and exciting experiences.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s expansion of European options in 2026 demonstrates a commitment to offering diverse and unique experiences for passengers. With new ports of call, overnight stays, and exciting itineraries, NCL continues to innovate and provide unforgettable vacation opportunities for travelers looking to explore the beauty and culture of Europe.
