The convenience and efficiency that technology offers make our lives easier and more connected. I rely heavily on my Apple Watch and Google Calendar to stay organized and on track with my daily tasks.
However, as much as I love technology when it works seamlessly, there are moments when it fails us. A recent experience with United Airlines’ bag-tracking feature highlighted the downside of relying too heavily on technology. I had checked in two bags for a flight to Dallas, only to be met with a rude surprise upon landing. The United app showed that both my bags had been rerouted and would arrive on a later flight, causing me a great deal of stress and inconvenience.
The situation escalated when I had a press conference to attend shortly after landing, and my essential belongings were held up in transit. The anxiety and uncertainty of not having my luggage in a new city were overwhelming.
